Today’s French Fridays with Dorie are these cute little Tomato Cheese Tartlets. For me, anything that smacks of a pizza has my name on it. These were pretty easy to make too. I haven’t worked with pastry dough very often but it wasn’t that hard to tell you the truth. Roll out the dough then cut out the rounds and bake them. Dorie’s recipe called for black olive tapenade to be slathered on the top of the baked round, then alternate with sliced tomato and cheese. Sounds like a pizza doesn’t it?
These were tasty little appetizers and I really think my husband liked them better than regular pizza. I drizzled a little bit of balsamic glaze over the top with a littel bit of olive oil.
I really couldn’t get a good photo of them and they do look quite messy but if it takes good then messy is okay by me.
